Itinerary
Enter the Rim Country
Meet near Payson. Hike into the Mogollon Rim backcountry through towering ponderosa pines. Set up camp at a scenic dispersed site along East Clear Creek.
Creek Exploration
Day hike along the creek, discovering waterfalls and swimming holes. Practice wilderness skills and enjoy the solitude of rough camping.
Rim Views
Break camp and trek to a new location near the rim edge. Spectacular views over the Tonto Basin. Evening campfire (when fire restrictions allow).
Return Journey
Morning hike along the rim with incredible vistas. Descend back through the forest to the trailhead.

Physical Requirements & Fitness
