Day hike along the creek, discovering waterfalls and swimming holes. Practice wilderness skills and enjoy the solitude of rough camping.
Break camp and trek to a new location near the rim edge. Spectacular views over the Tonto Basin. Evening campfire (when fire restrictions allow).
Morning hike along the rim with incredible vistas. Descend back through the forest to the trailhead.
Moderate fitness required. Comfortable hiking 8-12 miles per day with a 30-35 lb pack. Some elevation changes but accessible to most.
